In the wake of last week's announcement that GDC Europe would include remarkable sessions from Epic Games and Amazon, we're pleased to debut two more notable sessions for the major European game conference, which is being held in Germany this August.
The event will include topics spanning AAA through mobile gaming and indie, both technical and business-focused. The pair of talks we're announcing today cover both the systemic and the human sides of game design, and they should include learnings for the entire community.

GDC Europe offers discounted passes, show floor access to Respawn attendees

GDC Europe is pleased to announce a partnership with Aruba Events to offer attendees of its Respawn convention free access to the GDC Europe Expo Floor and a discount on the full GDC Europe conference pass, which grants access to lectures and panels with significant, applicable takeaways for today's video game community.

Developers of Europe, take note: the call for submissions to present games in the first-ever European Innovative Games Showcase at GDC Europe 2014 ends this Friday, June 6th.
Taking place during the Independent Games Summit at the Cologne, Germany show this August, the winning creators will be offered 5-minute microtalks at the final session of GDC Europe's IGS to showcase what's special about their current project.

Following announcements of talks from the creators of Monument Valley and Luftrausers last week, GDC Europe organizers are debuting two more notable sessions for the major European game conference, which is being held in Germany this August.
Today we're announcing a pair of talks covering the design and business of games: Ubisoft Blue Byte's Teut Weidemann (Settlers Online) will deconstruct the design principles of one of the most successful free-to-play games in the industry, while industry veteran Don Daglow (Neverwinter Nights) will break down what it takes to jumpstart a successful career as an indie developer.

GDC launches this year's State of the European Game Industry survey

In an effort to better understand the state of the European game industry before GDC Europe 2014, conference organizers are once again looking to poll all European game developers about their roles in game development and their thoughts on where the industry is headed in the year to come.
The brief survey is live now and will remain open through June 13 in order to record vital data on the work of European developers and their opinions on contemporary issues facing the industry.

UBM Tech is announcing a call to present lectures, roundtables and panels at the 2nd annual Game Developers Conference Next as well as the featured App Developers Conference.
GDC Next and ADC, which aim to highlight practical ways for developers to increase the creative and financial success of their projects, are taking place simultaneously on November 3rd-4th, 2014 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Submissions for presentations will be accepted from now through Friday, May 30th.
