Game Developers Conference 2014 organizers are highlighting a few more noteworthy Summit sessions for the upcoming March conference that will help you better understand your players, satisfy their needs and reap the benefits.
These talks are part of the Game Narrative Summit, the Free To Play Design & Business Summit, and the Smartphone & Tablet Games Summit, just three of the eight that will take place Monday, March 17 and Tuesday, March 18 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA during the first two days of GDC 2014.

Mark Cerny, Mike Capps headline GDC 2014 'Flash Forward' session

Passes for the Game Developers Conference 2014 are going fast, and today we're excited to announce a very special session that you'll want to know about.
This year we're kicking off GDC with the third annual "Flash Forward" session, starting at 9:30am on Wednesday, March 19.
This year the Flash Forward presenters have been hand-picked by the GDC Advisory Board, ensuring that the session will feature an eclectic mix of speakers that represents the full breadth of the conference. Those selected will have the chance to grab attendees' attention by taking the stage for a brief period of time -- 30-45 seconds, tops -- to present a rapid-fire overview of what their session is and why it's worth checking out.

Game Developers Conference 2014 organizers are highlighting a few more noteworthy Summit sessions for the upcoming March conference, including an Antichamber postmortem from creator Alexander Bruce and a behind-the-scenes look at how ChAIR Entertainment created Infinity Blade, then tapped a wealth of analytic data to develop sequels that matched player tastes.
These talks are part of the Independent Games Summit and the Smartphone & Tablet Games Summit, just two of the eight that will take place Monday, March 17 and Tuesday, March 18 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA during the first two days of GDC 2014.

GDC 2014 Bootcamps & Tutorials include talks on Halo 4, Ryse and more

GDC 2014 organizers are highlighting more day-long sessions for the March conference, including a crash course on technical art design, a deep dive into the nuts and bolts of animation, and diverse array of talks about the art of level design.

Audience Award voting now open for 2014 GDCAs and IGF awards

Game Developers Conference organizers are pleased to announce that Audience Award voting for both the 2014 Game Developers Choice Awards (GDCAs) and the Independent Games Festival (IGF) Main Competition Awards is now open through March 1, 2014 at 9PM ET.
These Audience Awards represent an opportunity for the gaming public to weigh in and cast a vote for their favorite nominee(s).
Winners from both award shows will be announced Wednesday, March 19 during the 2014 Game Developers Conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA.

Indie Megabooth Showcase reveals game lineup for GDC 2014

Passes for the Game Developers Conference 2014 are still available, and today we're excited to announce more details about the brand new Indie MEGABOOTH Showcase exhibit, which will be open to all GDC passholders (from Expo to All-Access) at various points during the week of the 2014 Game Developers Conference, March 17-21.
The Indie MEGABOOTH Showcase is a collection of independent developers banding together to show off the latest and greatest indie games at conventions across the world. The MEGABOOTH exists to support indie developers and help pool their resources to enable them to showcase their work prominently, despite not having access to publisher support.

GDC 2014 reveals robust Game Career Seminar session lineup

We're roughly four weeks out from the 2014 Game Developers Conference, and today show organizers are highlighting the Game Career Seminar, which offers lectures, panels, and presentations to help new and aspiring developers kick-start their careers in the game business.
This one-day program will take place Friday, March 21 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, and will give attendees the chance to learn about the industry and network with leading professionals and HR representatives, both within sessions and at the show's robust Career Pavilion.
The Game Career Seminar is open to all GDC pass holders, including Expo Pass holders. It's also accessible via a special one-day Student Pass for currently enrolled students over the age of 18 -- available on-site on Friday, March 21 for just $75.

GDC State of the Industry: PS4 leads console interest, as self-funding reigns

The Game Developers Conference has polled more than 2,600 North American game developers who attended GDC 2013 to compose the second annual State of the Industry Survey, which provides a snapshot of the games industry and illustrates industry trends before the start of GDC 2014 in March.
Notable trends shown in the poll results include a preference for the PlayStation 4 platform for console developers, the prevalence of self-funded projects, the changing reliance and relationship with publishers, and myriad other trends that offer a glimpse into the future landscape of the games industry.
