There are two networking sessions happening today, at 7:00am PT (10:00am ET, 3:00pm GMT) and 4:50pm PT (7:50pm ET). Vault Rewind: Queens of the Phone Age: The Narrative Design of 'Reigns: Her Majesty' (GDC 2018)

Time: 9:05am - 9:35am PT

Description: In the sequel to popular mobile kingdom management swipe-em-up 'Reigns', the team wanted to push past "Yass Queen" and "go girl!". Writer Leigh Alexander shares her narrative design process around the tricky political tightrope of women's power, especially when it has to be both violent and funny.

The 'Lamplighters League': Music Systems and Live Recording

Time: 9:40am - 10:10am PT

Description: Jon Everist, Game Audio Network Guild award winning and ASCAP nominated composer for BATTLETECH, Shadowrun, The Solitaire Conspiracy will dive deep into a brand new IP from longtime collaborator Harebrained Schemes, recorded at Abbey Road studios and implemented via Wwise, Jon will showcase the steps taken to implement and execute a live recorded project on both large and small scales. Jon will show many videos from recording sessions and showcase the Wwise project for how these recordings were used in the game.

Production & Team Leadership Career Fireside with Veronica Peshterianu and Danielle Reindeau

Time: 12:25pm - 12:55pm PT

Description: In this fireside chat, Game Developer editor-in-chief Danielle Riendeau interviews Veronica Peshterianu, Chief Operating Officer and Production Lead at System Era. They’ll discuss growing a career in production and team leadership and the importance of helping teams deliver amazing player experiences through collaboration and creativity—as well as her work giving back to the games industry through mentorship, knowledge-sharing with colleagues, advisory boards, and more.

Living Paintings of OFK: Art Directing the Style and Lives of an Indie-Pop Band

Time: 3:45pm - 4:15pm PT

Description: We Are OFK features four virtual band members who were created from the culmination of the development team's varying backgrounds and visions-- from different art styles to differences in approach. The characters are the living, breathing, virtual friends made by the devs after years of careful style search and technical exploration. Join the Art Team as we explore and reminisce on the development history of OFK, from excitement to frustration to breakthroughs, and why the characters feel so real.
