Developers, lend us your ears: Game Developers Conference 2015 officials are excited to highlight another great set of sessions incorporated into the Audio track of talks that you'll want to keep on your radar.
In this talk, members of Monolith will discuss the technical hurdles they encountered in transitioning from the first-person genre to an open world sandbox environment, as well as some of the audio successes they achieved by using previous experience crafting engaging, atmospheric soundscapes for first-person games like No One Lives Forever, F.E.A.R. and Condemned to strengthen emotional impact.
Also, four developers who served as part of Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo III audio squad will be delivering an insightful GDC 2015 talk on the game's sound design. "Soundtracking Hell - The Music of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls" promises to be an engaging panel discussion of the strategies and challenges Blizzard faced while creating the game's distinctive score, which incorporates large symphony orchestra and choir pieces recorded at Abbey Road Studios, Windmill Lane in Europe and Segerstrom Hall in Southern California.
