Learn the nuts and bolts of live service games. The Game Developers Conference is thrilled to announce that GDC 2025 will host an evolution of the Free-to-Play Summit that encompasses development of all live service games—and submissions are opening soon.
New in 2025, the Live Service Games Summit brings together leading game developers and publishers from around the world to share ideas and discuss best practices on game design and business strategy for games with a live services model. The focus is across all genres, audiences, platforms, and stages of the lifecycle of a game from concept through execution of live service games.
The call for submissions opens on Thursday, August 22. The Live Service Games Summit Advisors are looking for each talk to focus on at least one of the pillars of live services game design and strategy: acquisition, engagement/retention, and monetization. They welcome proposals from outside of mobile or free-to-play games, and encourage submissions from developers and studios outside North America.
GDC 2025 Summits will be accepting submissions this week, Thursday, August 22, through Thursday, September 26 at 11:59pm PT. More information, including a detailed breakdown of Summit topics of interest will be available on the GDC 2025 Summits and GCS Call for Submissions page upon opening. Be sure to visit the Submissions FAQ for a list of common questions and helpful advice on how to get things rolling.
