Set Up & Expo Hours

Set up hours (in Pacific Time):

Monday, March 17: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm

Tuesday, March 18: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm

Alt.ctrl.GDC Exhibitor booth and GDC Expo Hours (in Pacific Time):

Wednesday, March 19: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Thursday. March 20: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Friday, March 21: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Equipment & Set Up

Each alt.ctrl.GDC exhibitor recipient is granted a space with signage that includes the game/controller title and creator name. You will be expected to provide your own computer or console.

The equipment provided with your space at the alt.ctrl.GDC exhibitor booth includes:

10' x 10' area for you and your game

(1) 72”W x 24”D x 30” high draped table

(1) chair

(1) ID sign

Additional equipment can be requested below and is subject to show management review and approval. You may request internet access only if it is required to play your game. The conference itself will have open WiFi in select places, but not on the Expo Floor.

You must ensure that your space is fully set up and show-ready but by 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 18th.

Submit Exhibitor Booth Info

Due: January 31

Each alt.ctrl.GDC exhibitor must submit their booth information by Wednesday, January 31. Failure to submit this information may result in removal of your exhibit from the show.

Show Management Rules & Regulations

Please read the following Show Management Rules and Regulations, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety guidelines as it pertains to your exhibit. 

Shipping & Material Handling

An alt.ctrl.GDC exhibitor may hand-carry one load of materials (through the front door of the Expo Hall only), providing it can be moved in one trip without the use of dollies, hand trucks or other mechanical equipment. Anything larger must be shipped in advance to the Freeman Advance Warehouse. If you are shipping materials between March 15 – 21 please use this label here.

Advance shipments will be accepted at the warehouse Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Advance shipments sent to the Freeman warehouse must only arrive Thursday, February 13th, 2025 through Monday, March 10th, 2025. Please note that the warehouse will not accept shipments before these dates.

Freeman is the official contractor for GDC 2025 and is responsible for unloading, delivery, reloading and processing all exhibitor freight shipments. Exhibitors that do not coordinate with Freeman in advance will be penalized may result in removal of their exhibit from the show.

Pass Information

Due February 21:

As part of your alt.ctrl.GDC finalist package, you will receive 2 GDC All Access passes, which can be given to any 2 members of your team. These will allow entry into the Summits (Monday & Tuesday), the Main Conference (Wednesday through Friday). You can see what the All Access pass will grant you here. In addition to the conference passes, each team will receive 2 Exhibitor passes. You will be able to pick up your pass at Registration with proper photo ID. The GDC All Access pass and Exhibitor pass includes access to the Exhibit floor, but only during Expo hours (Wednesday, March 22 – Friday, March 24). Please fill out these pass requests by Friday, February 21. Once the pass request have been recieved we will send you a code to register for the pass. 

Location & Hotels:

If you would like to reserve a hotel in the Downtown San Francisco area, you are welcome to use the below link. Hotel cancellations must be made by 72 hours before the start of the reservation.
