It's the week we've been waiting for all year: The 2023 Game Developers Conference has returned to the Moscone Convention Center. We're kicking things off with an incredible first day of summits, talks, sponsored summits, and events.
You can pick up your badge between 8:00am and 5:00pm at registration, located in South Hall, Street Level. Be sure to complete your registration and log into Swapcard so you can start learning and networking.

Climate Crisis Workshop: Use Your Game Developer Superpowers to Fight
Location: Room 2014, West Hall

Description: "Through expert lectures and hands-on design activities, participants will both better understand the climate crisis and unlock their own superpowers as game developers, immediately applying new theory and practice to develop an original game pitch by the end of the day."
Future Realities Summit: Clinical Virtual Reality: A Brief Review of the Future
Location: Room 209, South Hall
Time: 10:50 am - 11:50 am
Description: "Albert Rizzo, Director of Medical VR & Research Professor at USC-Institute for Creative Technologies, will present the latest developments within the context of a conceptual model of five core processes where VR adds value over traditional clinical strategies. By understanding these processes (Expose, Distract, Motivate, Measure, and Engage) and the clinical VR apps that illustrate them, the audience will more clearly see how game development concepts and expertise can play a vital role in the future of mental and rehabilitative healthcare!"
Game Narrative Summit: Respecting Player Fantasies in Dating Sims

Description: "In this talk, Betty Robertson, BAFTA-nominee and Senior Narrative Designer at Survios, explains the ins and outs of player fantasy and expectations in the Dating Sim genre. Production Essentials Summit: The Producer's Role in Fostering Cultural Inclusion

Description: "In this session, consultant and trainer Tina Merry will explore topics to help effectively navigate cultural diversity and to support a strategic approach for increased effectiveness and inclusion in all multicultural interactions."
Independent Games Summit: Indie Soapbox
Location: Room 2005, West Hall
Time: 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Description: "Indie Soapbox is the chance for indie devs from diverse backgrounds and projects to come together to share their thoughts, lessons and provocations about indie game dev in this long standing micro talk format. Attendees will enjoy a rich and varied set of themes and topics, all in a punchy format that has something for everyone."
