If you've been eager to attend GDC next year but are in need of safe childcare options during the event, we've got exciting news! "GDC Kids" onsite childcare is available for parents and guardians at GDC 2023, and registration is now open.
The Game Developers Conference has partnered with KiddieCorp to provide onsite childcare at the Moscone Center for parents and guardians who may not otherwise be able to attend GDC. It's available for kids ages 6 months to 12 years old, from March 20-24, 2023, and costs $12 per hour per child (with a minimum of two years each day).
The childcare team is racially/ethnically diverse, gender-mixed, and age-diverse, with team members who are able to comfort even the most hesitant children and help them enjoy their time—and provide you that critical peace of mind so you can attend your sessions and events worry-free.
Snacks and water will be provided, but adults are required to provide meals for their kids. Parents and guardians of infants are asked to provide diapers, milk/formula, baby food, and a change of clothes. Information on KiddieCorp's COVID-19 policies and safety plans are available on their registration page.
Spots for this hourly childcare service are limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis—so it's recommended that parents register their kids early. This partnership is one of many ongoing GDC efforts aimed at making it easier for a broader variety of game industry professionals to attend and speak at the conference.
