Be Sure to Get Your COVID-19 Booster by March 14 for GDC 2022

The Game Developers Conference is a few weeks away, and the deadline is fast approaching for applicable attendees to get your third booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by Monday, March 14 if you haven't already. Otherwise, you'll need to provide a negative test in addition to your two-dose vaccine.

Health and safety measures remain paramount and we’re committed to following city and Moscone Center guidelines to deliver an exceptional experience. This includes requiring attendees to have a booster shot or a negative COVID-19 test if you received your initial vaccination on or before September 19, 2021.

If you received your initial completed vaccination after September 14, 2021, you will not be required to have a booster shot or negative COVID test to attend.

If you're eligible for a booster shot, you'll need to get one by Monday, March 14—one week before GDC begins. We accept COVID-19 vaccines that are FDA-approved or on the WHO Emergency Use Listing (EUL). They include: Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Johnson & Johnson/Janssen, Sinovac, Sinopharm, Covidshied, and AstraZeneca.

Otherwise, you must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 administered prior to attendance. Acceptable proof of a negative COVID test includes a printed document or electronic test result from a test provider or laboratory. A PCR test must be administered within 48 hours before receiving your badge, while a verified rapid antigen test must be administered within 24 hours before receiving your badge.

GDC is pleased to offer attendees rapid antigen testing onsite to fulfill the negative COVID test requirement. Testing sites will be located in South Hall. Please pre-register here.

Self-administered tests, like at-home rapid antigen tests not verified by a third party, are not acceptable for entry.

The negative COVID-19 test only replaces the requirement for a booster, not the original two-dose vaccine. A negative COVID-19 test result without any vaccination will not be sufficient for entry.
